Founded in 2017 by cultural entrepreneur and established music professional Victor Redwood-Sawyerr, Red1Arts supports the development of world-class music artists, produces new live event formats and supports the growth of companies whose activity makes strong contributions to a flourishing music ecology in the UK and around the world.
Red1Arts is also a strong voice for the sector, engaging creative industry bodies, government agencies and public funders to highlight the value that music provides and lobbying for further support. We also serve as a trusted filter, signposting peers to new opportunities within the arts and funding sector.
Victor Redwood-Sawyerr
Founder and CEO
Victor has over 25 years’ experience as an accomplished musician, songwriter and record producer, winning Mobo and American Soul Train awards for his international work in Soul, R&B and Hip Hop. As well as being a founding member of seminal UK acts Hil St Soul and Blak Twang, Victor has worked with other prominent artists such as Whitney Houston, Roots Manuva, Jessie J and Brenda Russell. In addition to this, he has worked as a Music Relationship Manager at Arts Council England supporting the development of contemporary popular, African and Jazz music sectors.
